Cuttlefishbone is a hard, brittle internal structure found in all members of the family "SEPIIDAE" commanly known as "CUTTLE FISH".In U.S.A however there are no naturally found species and the most commanly imported species is from Bali called "SEPIA" which is otherwise known as "CUTTLE FISH".

In past it was used in making polishing powder.This polishing powder in turn was added to tooth paste and also used as antacid.Today these cuttle bones are commanly used as calcium rich, dietary supplements for caged birds, chinchillas, hermit crabs, snails and other reptails. This cuttle fish bone is composed primarily of Aragonite. It is a chambered gas filled shell used for buoyancy control.
